The following thoughts come from you, our readers. Each month, we print the best ones (scroll down past Aubrie's photo to read 'em) and one lucky youngster wins a special prize.

JANUARY'S WINNER ...

• Jenna asked, “Daddy, are you young or old?” “Medium,” I replied. She paused and said, “You’re gonna be large soon.”
Jenna, 6

... AND THE BEST OF THE REST

We were headed to the park one hot afternoon. Kiana asked her mom and dad,   “Do I need to put on my skunkscreen?”
• Kiana, 4

• I was driving my almost-3-year-old twins home one day after getting pizza. I said, “We are going to eat PEPPERONI pizza at home.” When we got home, my daughter looked around and then started to cry. I asked what was wrong, and she said, “My pet pony! You said a ‘pet pony’ at home.”
Kiara, 2

• I was in the bathroom with my twin boys, and I was applying my mascara. Reese said to his brother, “Shhhh! Mommy is putting on her pretty eyes.”
Reese and Chase, 3

• I was singing “Santa Baby,” and Kate asked me, “Why would Santa slip a SAILOR under the tree?” According to the lyrics, Santa is asked to slip a SABLE under the tree.
Kate, 6

• Every time my wife or I would look in the mirror with our little boy, we’d ask him who each person was (Mommy, Daddy, etc.). When it came time to ask who he was, we’d say, “That’s you!” One day we were looking in the mirror, and I asked him who I was. He said, “Daddy.” I then asked him who he was, and he said, “That’s you!” We’ve since started teaching him that “That’s you” is actually Joshua.
Joshua, 2

• Even though Cole has his own scooter, he was exceptionally excited to take a ride on his brother’s Hot Wheels scooter. Cole was riding along just fine, but then he came over to me and fussed that the scooter wasn’t working for him. I asked, “Cole, what do you mean? You were doing great!” He stuck out his bottom lip and said, “The wheels are still cold.”
Cole, 4

• My 5-year-old was on my lap and wouldn’t let me up. I asked, “Aren’t you hungry for dinner?” She replied, “I’m hungry for time on your lap, Mommy.”
Madison, 5

• When we got our Christmas tree, Chase was so excited. He helped decorate it and went to bed without a fight. He woke me up early the next morning, leading me excitedly by the hand to the living room. When we got there, he asked, “Oh no, Mommy! Have I been bad?” I replied. “No. Why?” He answered, “Because Santa forgot to leave presents! We got the tree!” I had to explain that Christmas was three weeks away!
Chase, 3
