April’s Winner!“I was recently informing my husband that a friend would be visiting the Eiffel Tower this spring, when Skylar quickly piped in: "I want to visit the Apple Tower, too!” Skylar, 4, of Beaumont I asked Colin if he would like a Happy Meal for dinner, and he said, “No, I want a Mad Meal, because that’s how I feel.” Colin, 3, of Lake Elsinore At Ash Wednesday mass, my son asked what the priest was putting on everyone’s forehead. I told him ashes. He said, “Mommy, I don’t want the priest to give me rashes!” Joey, 3, of Lake Elsinore I took my son to his granddad’s courthouse, where he’s a judge. We went into a chamber where there were 2 other judges. One asked Dane if he wanted to be a judge when he grew up. He said, “No.” So the man asked Dane what he wanted to be and Dane said, “An alien.” Dane, 4, of Riverside I was pushing the stroller up a hill to our neighborhood park and said to Nicholas, “Mommy is out of shape.” He processed this then said, “Oh. Do you want a circle?” Nicholas, 2, of Riverside When I was pregnant, we went on vacation and my niece and I shared a room. She told her mom she didn’t want to sleep in the same room as me because she might get pregnant, too. Hannah, 6, of Hemet My twin daughters were making me laugh by acting very silly. Between laughter, I mentioned that they really “cracked me up,” to which Skylar replied, “Like an egg!” Skylar, 4, of Beaumont My daughter picks up on things I say, and thank goodness she doesn’t always get the words right. After taking meds for a cough, she called my husband into the room and told him in secret, “Daddy, you don’t want to taste this medicine because it tastes like crab.” Emily, 5, of Wildomar I read February’s Cover Story, “What is love?” in which school-age children give their own thoughts as to what love is. It inspired me to ask my own children the same question. My little one said, “Love is kissing, and love is when you love someone.” I then asked, “Well, how do you love?” and he answered, “Like this,” as he ran across the room to hug me. Matthew, 4, of Claremont My daughter was very upset with me, when she shouted through tears, “EVEN IF I DON’T HUG YOU OR KISS YOU OR CALL YOU BEAUTIFUL NAMES, I STILL LOVE YOU!” Anika, 3, of Corona We visited friends who are die-hard Green Bay Packer fans. They taught my daughters to exclaim loudly, “Go, Green Bay Packers!” My daughter quickly shouted, “Go, Green Bean Crackers!” Skylar, 4, of Beaumont |
