The DVD was created by John Louis, massage therapist to the Chicago White Sox baseball team and founder and owner of the Massage Therapy Center in Winnetka, Ill. Studies by the Touch Research Institute have shown that infant massage therapy reduces sleep delay behaviors and increases daytime alertness and activity. FESTIVAL QUEEN AND COURT Sierra Hanson, 17, of La Quinta High School has been selected to reign as Queen Scheherezade at the 2005 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival. Emmeline Soto, 17, of La Quinta and Lindsay Armstrong, 17, of Palm Desert were also crowned as princesses at the 59th Annual Queen Scheherezade Scholarship Pageant. Hanson and Soto are both International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates and Armstrong has participated in the Global Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. FOOT/ANKLE CENTER AT CASA COLINA Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation in Pomona has opened the Casa Colina Foot & Ankle Center, a new outpatient medical program specifically designed to serve both pediatric (including newborns) and adult patients with foot and ankle problems. The center provides a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis of problems caused by injury or accident as well as congenital conditions. MASTER CHORALE NAMED HONOREE The city of Riverside, the Riverside Arts Council, and the Riverside Cultural Trust recently named the Riverside Mater Choral the Arts Honoree of the Month. Founded in 1945, the chorale has offered regional audiences the opportunity to experience classical and choral music. Over the years, the chorale has brought together professional and novice singers to build a tradition of excellence. Dina Humble is in her first full season as artistic director of the chorale.
