READER QUERY ON OBESITY

Perhaps following the lead of Inland Empire Family Magazine’s August Cover Story on obesity, Sports Illustrated recently wrote about a program in Connecticut that emphasizes the benefits and joys of exercise through sports and games many played before the school bell rings.

This is one community’s answer to the raging obesity epidemic in America.

Are there schools in your area that are trying innovative ways to get their students on track to a more fit life?

If so, please let us know at: inlandempirefamily.com, and we will explore doing comparable stories in the future.

MASSAGE INFANTS TO SLEEP

A newly released video, “Infant Massage Lessons for Dads,” shows fathers how to help out in putting their infants to bed and actually getting them to sleep. The DVD was created by John Louis, massage therapist to the Chicago White Sox baseball team and founder and owner of the Massage Therapy Center in Winnetka, Ill.

Studies by the Touch Research Institute have shown that infant massage therapy reduces sleep delay behaviors and increases daytime alertness and activity. The video is available for $19.95 at
www.chocolatemilkproductions.com and Amazon.com.
