Danielle and Miranda George
Dynamic duo
Grade: 12
Polytechnic High School, Riverside

Danielle and Miranda George have made Riverside proud. Both seniors at Polytechnic High School, the 18-year-old twins have grown up in the Girl Scouts. Earning bronze, silver and, most recently, the Girl Scout Gold Award – an honor that is achieved by only 5 percent of Girl Scouts across the nation – the duo are poised to continue a lifetime committed to service.

To earn the highest Girl Scout honor, the girls helped restore the Rubidoux Nature Center. They helped to refurbish a bridge at the center, cleaning, priming and painting paw prints of native animals. Their team also “wood-burned” images of the animals that correspond to the paw prints. The restoration at the center created a new educational experience for the visitors, young and old alike. For years to come, students will be able to identify what animal tracks belongs to what animal.
