The Inland Empire's best and brightest

Stephanie Treen
Valiant volunteer
Grade: 12
John W. North High School, Riverside

While celebrities like Angelina Jolie get the spotlight, there are many other young women quietly doing the same humanitarian work. Stephanie Treen is among them. This senior at John W. North High School has already traveled to Nicaragua four times to build orphanages and schools, and teach poor children and teenagers about health and safety.

She spent last summer in Nageezi, New Mexico, helping the Navajo Indians. She is a celebrity in their world.

Back at home, Stephanie is in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program and maintains a 4.5 GPA. When she’s not studying, she is active in the school’s color guard and drama programs.

She has been accepted to UC Davis and plans to be a teacher.
