Dad. Papa. Daddy. Whatever you call him, a father is an essential part of a person’s life, and no amount of gift can show the gratitude you feel or the love you have for that special person in your life. Whether they were your biological dad, a step parent, an adoptive parent, a grandfather, an uncle, or even a single mom who also played the “dad” role, we know how much we can never give enough to truly say “thank you”.
Still, every Father’s Day we honor those men (and women) who fill the role of “father” in our lives, and we thank them, in any way we can, for being such an important presence in our lives.
If you’re like me, however, you’ve perhaps waited a bit too long to get a gift, and now need some help with ideas. With the big day rapidly approaching, we here at IE Family, in partnership with our beloved Victoria Gardens, have compiled this list of Father’s Day gift ideas, for the various types of Dads out there, and we’ve also included info on where to find these gifts right here in the I.E. All you have to do is make the drive, purchase, and you’re set.
For the Outdoorsy Dad
The outdoorsman Dad is easy to spot – he’s never without his cargo shorts or Swiss Army Knife. For the rugged, outdoor man in your life, try this portable grill from Bass Pro Shops, $89.99.
For the Sophisticated, Professional Dad
You know him; he’s the guy who’s never far away from his iPhone, and answers each phone call in a very business-like manner. The sophisticated Dad never has a hair out of place, and is the image of perfection whatever the occasion. For this Dad, check out these special wrinkle-free shirts from Eddie Bauer, $39.99 and up.
For the Sports Fanatic Dad
Sports Fan Dad has a closet full of jerseys and every game set, and an engraved beer mug with his favorite team from Things Remembered would make a great personalized gift. Sporting event tickets are always a great gift as well; check to see when dad’s favorite team is playing and purchase tickets on sites like Stubhub.com.
For the Athletic Dad
Athlete Dad doesn’t just watch the game – he gets in on the action. For this Dad, a pair of running or athletic shoes or a gift card from Champs makes a great gift.
For busy Dad-on-the-run, Brookstone makes these wireless keyboards, which can be used for tablets – perfect for Dad’s next business trip or venture.
For the Sweets-Loving Dad
This Dad with a sweet tooth never turns down a treat. Feed dad’s sugar fix with a fun, “out-of-the-box” gift of ‘Chocolate Seegars’ from Sees’ Candies.
For the Foodie Dad
They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and so is the cake with this food-loving papa. Treat Dad to a sumptuous meal with family and friends by taking him to Fleming’s at Victoria Gardens, which features a decadent Father’s Day Brunch, including a $25 gift card for Dad, compliments of the restaurant.
For the New Dad
Capture precious moments for the new Dad with a professional photo of his new bundle of joy from Picture People, or check out a local photographer like Jennifer Kuhse Photography, who specializes in newborn and family photography.
